Feeling Overwhelmed

feeling overwhelmed

I’m sure it’s not just me who gets the feeling of being overwhelmed.

Being at an event where there are so many people to talk to and so much to do can be extremely overwhelming. You just don’t know where to look half the time, but there’s always that feeling afterwards that you’ve overcome whatever feelings you have and almost satisfaction that you’ve done it.

On the other hand, there’s the situation of taking on so much and being so busy doing everything you possibly can. That can also be so overwhelming but in a good way. I remember I used to sit around doing practically nothing before blogging and now with organising events too, all my spare time awake goes into that and blogging. That in itself can be completely overwhelming but I love having small side projects that go with blogging.

It opens up a whole number of possibilities and exciting opportunities.

While being and feeling completely overwhelmed is only a small factor, the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment completely outweighs any negative feelings.

Yesterday I shared a post with you on How I Lost 1 Stone in 1 Month and ran my personal best mile last week, for me this was a completely overwhelming feeling. I’ve lost weight, something I’ve battled with for years, an addiction to food that I simply didn’t know how to deal with and I’m so proud of myself that when I think about it, I cannot believe it and I get so overwhelmed that I could cry. Then I think that I can do this, I can really do this, I can lose weight and be happier and find pretty dresses that I can wear without feeling ridiculously self conscious. Already I’ve bought jeans a size smaller and I have a new favourite outfit, that actually looks good! It’s overwhelming but also an amazing achievement when I thought it was just a downwards spiral, turns out it can go up too!

It actually makes me so excited for the future, I don’t think I could ask for anything more right now!

How I Lost 1 Stone In 1 Month

how i lost 1 stone in 1 month

I really wasn’t sure whether I would sit down to write this post, let along actually sure how I lost 1 stone in 1 month.

It’s taken a long time to actually get here, I would always lose a few pounds and think it was fine to go back to the way I had been eating which led to putting back on those few pounds and then some.

While it hasn’t been easy to battle with myself and all those demons telling me to give up and that I can’t do it, I powered on through.

I’m not even half way to where I wan to be but it’s one hell of a start and if I can lose another stone and a half in the next two months, I will be extremely happy. It’s also a totally achievable target and I’m hoping I’ll be able to exceed it!

Food:

A lot of it is down to what I eat, I could do all the running and exercise in the world but if I eat junk food all the time then I’d probably still gain weight.

Breakfast -> If I remember to eat then I would typically have smoothies made with coconut water or spelt flour pancakes.

Lunch -> A salad of some form but I also love the Tasty Little Numbers meals which are only 200 calories.

Dinner -> It can range from chicken with vegetables and sweet potato to salmon with beetroot and rice but normally a vegetable will take place of the carb in my dinner.

Snacks -> If I’m absolutely desperate, I’ll have fruit or a cup of green tea.

Exercise:

I do exercise any day that I can, I aim for nearly everyday with a couple of days rest a week and hope I’m not hurting too much from the previous day.

I start out with a 1.3 mile or so run which can take anything from 16 to 20 minutes depending on how much my legs are aching. I’m hoping to slowly increase this to 2 to hit my goal of 5k by January. After a run I tend to do 3 sets of 5 different exercises, including weights, planks and squats. Some days this is the easy part and other days it’s so hard to get through. But there’s normally dinner to look forward to afterwards which makes it almost bearable.

This is literally what I have done so far, I do not calorie count, of course I make sure there aren’t thousands of calories in what I’m eating, and I stay away from takeaways and junk food. So in a way I do have a rough idea of the intake of calories but I don’t physically go over every piece of food and write down the calories that I’m eating.

It’s a crazy feeling what I’ve accomplished so far, and I am ridiculously proud of myself for coming as far as I have. All I can say is that I’m starting to enjoy the exercise and it’s an amazing feeling being able to go down a size in clothes now.

Beauty Blogger Box September Edition

It’s time for the second edition of the Blogger Beauty Box by the wonderful Vicky. I was so surprised when this arrived through the post but also so excited for it to arrive!

Blogger Beauty Box

The first product which caught my attention was the Yes To…Facial Wipes. The travel pack is so ideal for winter weekends away and they smell just like blueberries, I love them.

Blogger Beauty Box

Makeup Revolution has got to be one of the most talked about makeup brands in the beauty blogger world. I have one of their eyeshadow palettes which I absolutely love. I like the feel of this lipstick and that it is slightly creamy. I love the colour but I would have to be in a daring mood to wear it!

Blogger Beauty Box

I met the lovely people behind Yours Truly Organic at the Bloggers Festival in London and I’m excited to try this serum. I love what they stand for already and I have a good feeling about this repairing serum!

Blogger Beauty Box

This lipgloss from Beautiful Movements Cosmetics in Gypsy Spirit is a beautiful colour. It’s a very matte lipgloss or at least as matte as a lipgloss can be. I didn’t think this colour would suit me but I really like the deep peach colour.

Blogger Beauty Box

The last item this month is a hand cream from Sniffy Wiffy. I absolutely love what they stand for. In their words “the first company to bring the fight against breast and testicular cancer into bathrooms everywhere.” With all their products, there is the option to have it with or without a label. This label explains how to do a self-examination. A genius idea if you ask me. I got a cherry scented hand cream, it smells amazing and my hands feel so soft.

Blogger Beauty Box

Yet another great beauty blogger box, I cannot wait to see what next month brings!
