It’s time for the second edition of the Blogger Beauty Box by the wonderful Vicky. I was so surprised when this arrived through the post but also so excited for it to arrive!
The first product which caught my attention was the Yes To…Facial Wipes. The travel pack is so ideal for winter weekends away and they smell just like blueberries, I love them.
Makeup Revolution has got to be one of the most talked about makeup brands in the beauty blogger world. I have one of their eyeshadow palettes which I absolutely love. I like the feel of this lipstick and that it is slightly creamy. I love the colour but I would have to be in a daring mood to wear it!
I met the lovely people behind Yours Truly Organic at the Bloggers Festival in London and I’m excited to try this serum. I love what they stand for already and I have a good feeling about this repairing serum!
This lipgloss from Beautiful Movements Cosmetics in Gypsy Spirit is a beautiful colour. It’s a very matte lipgloss or at least as matte as a lipgloss can be. I didn’t think this colour would suit me but I really like the deep peach colour.
The last item this month is a hand cream from Sniffy Wiffy. I absolutely love what they stand for. In their words “the first company to bring the fight against breast and testicular cancer into bathrooms everywhere.” With all their products, there is the option to have it with or without a label. This label explains how to do a self-examination. A genius idea if you ask me. I got a cherry scented hand cream, it smells amazing and my hands feel so soft.
Yet another great beauty blogger box, I cannot wait to see what next month brings!
I had been umming and ahhing about attending the Bloggers Festival by Scarlett London for some time but a few weeks or so before the event I thought I would find out if there were any space available. To my delight there were!
Fortunately for this event I didn’t have to leave at 6am so even though I should have been able to have a little lie in, I still woke up early from excitement.
I hadn’t entirely decided what to wear as even though I’ve lost quite a lot of weight, I still wasn’t entirely comfortable in a lot of my clothes. In the end I went for a pink dress with a little navy cardigan. Clothes that were once too small for me but now fit!
Before the event, I met Kirsty and we popped in to Tiger to get some bits for our own event in a couple of weeks time plus I miss that place! It’s so good for little bits you might need. Sadly they didn’t have what we needed, gutted!
We then headed over to St. James’ Park to the hotel where the event was taking place. The room was well laid out with brands around the outside of the room, and in the centre was an area for us tired bloggers to sit down and relax.
I met some great brands including Jewellery Box, Lego, Small Man Media, Exuviance and Grace who do some amazing Caribbean foods. I also loved talking to Mode Media who had some incredible ideas and clearly love working with bloggers!
I also loved getting this cute glitter tattoo from Glimmer Tattoos. It’s totally acceptable to have these all the time right?
I cam away with so many treats and goodies that I absolutely cannot wait to try and share with you all.
I’m also pretty sure my family love it when I come back from these events with so much stuff that they can try too!
A huge thank you to Scarlett and everyone who helped her put on such a great afternoon.
I slept like a baby that night after such an exhausting day!
It’s been a month since I left my job (:() but obviously moving was for the good of my health and career and basically life!
Anyway, when I left, an Australian girl called Laura gave me 3 of her favourite Lush products when I left. Something so simple but one of the most sweetest gifts ever, and hello, Lush products!
She got me the Butterball bath bomb, You’ve Been Mangoed bath melt and Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar.
I’ve had none of these products before so it was really great to try something new!
I’d been dying to try a bath melt for a few months since Laura mentioned them and since I love mango, to me this smells absolutely divine. Just from the feel of it, you can tell You’ve Been Mangoed is going to be amazing when melted in the bath. It is so smooth and has cocoa butter in it so it is also amazing on the skin.
Butterball bath bomb isn’t one I have seen before but I feel like it is a hidden gem amongst the hundreds of other products you can get. While this doesn’t create much in the water unlike something like Intergalactic (!), it leaves the skin feeling baby soft and you feel great for ages after.
The Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar is a product that I haven’t actually considered getting before. But man I wish I had, you smell absolutely incredible, just like strawberries, unsurprisingly it has real crushed strawberries in it! Again, because it has cocoa butter in it, your skin is all soft and smooth. My only negative comment is that is is one that can’t be left in the shower or under running water as it just completely disappears. I prefer to savour my Lush products as I can’t get them so easily so I was a little bit miffed when this one almost disappeared on me.
Obviously, I was completely chuffed when Laura gave me this gift, while it may seem “just Lush products”, it’s a topic we would talk about and recommend products to each other and I told her she had to go to the Oxford Street store!!
As it would seem I am often surrounded by beauty bloggers and when Vix Meldrew thought she would create a beauty box aimed at bloggers, I knew I had to have one!
She has put so much love and thought in to putting together these boxes and the outcome just goes to show that she has done very well!
She got branded boxes made with her logo printed on them which are ideal for keeping the products undamaged while being posted. There’s nothing worse than having beauty products broken in the post.
First impressions were very good. It is a good first box and I couldn’t wait to start using the products.
Dusty Girls “Pacific Ocean Shimmer” Lipgloss
A product that I already have and absolutely love, I’m almost through my first one so I’m glad to have another. You can see my first review here.
MooGoo Cover-Up Buttercup Moisturiser
A product that I would have chosen myself as I’m not a huge fan of moisturisers because I just end up sticky (TMI?) but I have really enjoyed using this product. Being at a festival last weekend meant that I was always conscious of the weather. So with this moisturiser having SPF 15 meant that I had a bit of extra time looking at the sun before worrying about burning.
W7 Eyelust Mascara
Mascaras are actually my weakness when it comes to beauty products, along with blusher, I have more mascaras than any other beauty product I own. So when I saw this I knew I would love it. I love mascaras that make my eyelashes look big (I mean doesn’t everyone?), so I was already on to a winner. Plus I love trying different types of brushes.
W7 Fluorescent Kiss Lipstick
I have only been using lipsticks for the last couple of years, it’s not something that I’ve felt the need to always wear. I think I would have to be seriously brave to wear this bright pink lipstick but it’s always good to have something like this handy.
I personally think that subscription boxes are always hit and miss no matter what kind they are and on this occasion Vicky has done extremely well. For £10 it is well worth the money! I’ve already signed up for the next box and I can’t wait to see what’s inside!
