Lush Oxford Street Mini Haul

The Thursday before I went to Centerparcs, which was actually a month ago now CRAZY, I headed into Central London to meet Kirsty and the first place we headed was to Lush on Oxford Street. If you haven’t been to this store yet, you’re missing out, admittedly it’s a lot smaller than I expected but it is 3 floors which is still HUGE. The bottom floor dedicated to their spa and fragrances. The ground floor dedicated to soaps, shower gels, makeup and face products. The top floor is hope to all the bath bombs, bubble bars and your gifting section.

I haven’t ever experienced anything like this before. There are SO many products and way too many to choose from. I already knew exactly what I wanted but I was still tempted by a couple more. I work in retail and I always think it is important to deliver great customer service. I have never been anywhere were I feel I have received such amazing customer service but when I went into Lush I felt it was incredible! The girls were so helpful and so enthusiastic about the products which was refreshing and it definitely helped me to decide which products to get.

Lush Oxford St Exclusive

I chose 4 all together and I so wish I had gotten more now! I got The Experimenter, Pink Flamingo Bubble Bar, Frozen and Intergalactic. The Intergalactic is actually a present I gave to my Dad but it had beautiful colours and I can imagine it was very relaxing.

Lush Oxford St Exclusive

The Experimenter is one you have probably seen before, it’s the hexagonal shaped bath bomb exclusive to Oxford Street which has four different quadrants in pink, blue, yellow and white with a thin line of purple through the middle. It even has popping candy in it! I cannot wait to see the beautiful and bright colours that it turns the water! It smells incredible as well with strong tones of vanilla which is such a comforting scent. This is one that I will be saving for a rainy ay so I can enjoy a relaxing bath.

Lush Oxford St Exclusive

I am absolutely obsessed with Frozen, I think I’ve watched it over a hundred times as it’s 1 of 3 movies on my laptop. So the minute I saw that Lush had released a Frozen bath bomb I knew I absolutely needed it, the need was so unreal!! It was the first one I picked up and with the grapefruit, neroli and rose oils it smells absolutely incredible. I love fruity smells, I find it really refreshing so it was even more perfect for me.

The third product that I got for myself was the flamingo bubble bar. It’s pink and makes bubbles, where can I go wrong? If you haven’t seen already, I have a bit of a thing for flamingos and pink, my bedding is bring pink with white flamingos and I cannot wait for payday so I can get some more flamingo themed homeware! Anyway, the Pink Flamingo has rosewood oil, bergamot oil and Ylang Ylang oil plus their fair trade organic cocoa butter in it, so I can only imagine how good it is on the skin.

I haven’t used any of them yet as I do this thing where I save all my things for ages till I use them. Not for any reason in particular, just I’m not in any hurry to use them so I savour them a little longer. On the plus side, my room smells Lush.

May Beauty Face Masks

About a month ago I was contacted by a company called May Beauty* and kindly asked to review some of their face masks. As you are all aware I am on a serious mission to improve my skin and after a bit of research I was willing to try these face masks.

may beauty face mask

The incredible face mask works by removing dead skin cells and particles that clog pores in your skin, this in turn prevents acne and blackheads. I’ve got your attention now I see.

Literally I don’t think I’ve used a face mask so effective. You know when you’re younger and you choose the face mask with the prettiest packaging or that fun one that heats up when you put it on? They are the biggest load of rubbish compared to this one and the “incredible face mask” is certainly a fitting name.

My skin has never felt better, it felt smooth and clean and those blackheads? They’re reducing even more!

The sachets are very small compared to the ones you get in drug stores but there is plenty enough in there and I only have a small face! It is very thick and black, slightly alarming at first but also kind of fun to have thick black “mud” on your face! You keep the mask on for 30 – 45 minutes until it has dried and then peel it off.

I must say that when I used the face mask for the first time it was very sore peeling it off and I went quite red after. But there is a warning that comes with it and says that this was to be expected so I wasn’t alarmed at all. By the second time I used it, it hurt a little peeling it off as it’s pretty stuck on to your face but it wasn’t red or sore after which I was pleased about as I would probably have been put off using it again!

I don’t know about anyone else but how tempting is it to start peeling off face masks as they’re drying? I don’t like how much it restricts my face!

I’ve seen a huge improvement in my skin using these face masks and I’m going to be so disappointed when they run out.

I also got a very informative little booklet called “The Incredible Skin Guide” which includes information about how acne and blackheads are formed and also about the good and the bad foods. Most of it I already knew but it was interesting to see how acne and blackheads are formed even if the diagrams were a little too detailed and made me feel nauseous that my skin was like that. (It’s in my genes thought so it can only be helped to a certain extent).

I can’t recommend these enough and I rarely say this about beauty products as I don’t get along with that many so it’s a miracle when something works.

If you fancy trying these for yourself you can get 30% off of any of the packages using adelefacemask30 and going to this link. You know you want to!

Magnitone #7DayChallenge

A few weeks ago I took part in #BHTwitterParty and I was lucky enough to be gifted with a Magnitone* Lucid which I was desperate to try! We got to choose between 4 colours; Plush Pink, Dazzling Blue, Aqua Green and Sunshine Yellow. I don’t think you even need a hint to know that I naturally chose pink.

I got a lovely letter in the box with my Magnitone which was a really nice touch to the gift. The Magnitone cleansing and exfoliation brushes offer the most up to date technology in deep cleansing your skin.  The easy-to-use brushes use gentle sonic vibrations to dislodge blackheads and whisk away dead skin cells, revealing a bright and glowing complexion.

I will just pop in here that I have suffered from bad skin for the best part of 10 years now and you can read about how thrilled I was when I use Sebamed’s products here. This has not affected my review at all as I have absolutely loved using my Magnitone.

I started of the 7 days with spots all along my chin and jaw line and I had one break out on my cheek, this is actually a good day for me! I also have a lot of blackheads on my nose which I hate and I’m really self conscious about. I just think they’re disgusting! I used my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish with the brush and the smell of this was incredible! The brush was really soft on my skin. I will admit it hurt a little but I know this is just because I have sensitive skin. My skin definitely felt a lot softer already which I was so pleased with, it’s never felt like this!

Over the next few days I noticed I was breaking out quite a lot and it was a little sore when I was using the brush, however I think this was due to the change in my skin care regime, having sensitive skin and also not having thoroughly cleaned my skin like this before. This will not stop me using it at all as I know that the break outs are just caused by getting rid of all the underlying crap in my skin. It’s going which is the most important bit!

I have definitely noticed that my skin was an awful lot softer which I am so happy with. I’ve also noticed that my blackheads have reduced! My nose looks a lot cleaner and even though this is a little thing, it means so much more than anything else! Now to tackle the spots!

I loved that when you use it, it beeps every 20 seconds and it turns off automatically after 60 seconds so you don’t use it for longer than necessary. It also comes with a great travel charger which is small and I will definitely be taking it with me when I go away!

I honestly cannot recommend getting a Magnitone Lucid enough. If you are looking for a cleaner complexion or you want to up your skincare regime to the next level then this is definitely worth it. I find that it does so much more than you could ever do by hand.

You can get your own Magnitone Lucid in any colour you fancy (but obviously pink is the best!) and get 20% off using the code Adele20 which means it is only £55.99 (RRP £69.99) which is quite frankly a bargain! Or go to this link here.

I think I’m going to do a little series about products for acne prone skin, it’s becoming a little mission of mine to improve the condition of my skin as I see a huge different when it has improved! Stay tuned for more! If there’s anything you recommend, do send them my way.

Dusty Girls Gift Set

I believe this is now my third post about the #ShropshireBloggerMeet, and I’ve still got 2 more to go. But Kirsty did such a good job with all of the raffle prizes and goody bags that I couldn’t help but to write about all of them! You can read about the meet here and my Library of Fragrance raffle prize here.

As you are probably aware, I entered the raffle and won two prizes, the first being the Library of Fragrance colognes and the second being this Dusty Girls* Gift Set.

How cute is the tin bucket though? This is definitely taking pride place in my room for little bits that I need to keep track of!

Anyway, in my gift set I got “Sunshine” Natural Bronzer, “Pacific Shimmer” Natural Mineral Shimmering Lip Gloss and “Argyle Pink” Natural Mineral Lip Shine.

The great thing about all of these products is that I don’t have anything like them already! I only really use blusher, so using bronzer in the summer is going to be new for me! And I only use lip balms which I carry around in my bag so it’s going to be a change to use a lip gloss or lip shine for when I go out!

Dusty Girls was founded by the same people who founded MooGoo Skincare. MooGoo was founded when the founder adapted a cream to help a family member with a skin problem they had. The cream was full of skin repair ingredients and none of the bad artificial stuff! It grew as family and friends used the cream and MooGoo was born! Which obviously led on to Dusty Girls being made as well. They formed their makeup on the basis that your skin always looks great after a day in the countryside, “a bit dusty” but the colour and tone is on point! So they used the clays and minerals of the Earth to help improve our skin tone without any of the nasties. Also in their manifesto, “What is our number one beauty tip? Smile”. This made me smile, purely because of how true it is!

I didn’t know too much about the brand and products when I first got the prize, but I am completely won over now! The concept behind the brand is great and I’m so tempted by the MooGoo products as I have sensitive skin which is acne prone so it would be great to try some of their products!

“Pacific Ocean Shimmer” Natural Mineral Shimmering Lip Gloss

This reminds me of something I would have used about 10 years ago but this is definitely a more grown up version and it’s got a little bit more pigment to it. I was worried it would be silver but it’s more of a peach coloured shimmer which is so pretty! I’ll definitely be using this when I wear blusher, so I’m not too heavy on the pink!

“Argyle Pink” Natural Mineral Lip Shine

This is so pretty! I wasn’t sure how this was going to come, I thought it would be applied with a brush but it actually came in the form of a stick, similar to lipstick. When I first opened it, I thought it was really dark and there was no way I could wear something like that. But as I tested it on my hand, it came out quite thin and a lovely pink colour! I’ll be wearing this with the bronzer so there’s a bit more colour on my face!

“Sunshine” Natural Mineral Bronzer

I’m SO excited to use this. I’ve never owned a bronzer before which is a little bit daunting but it comes with directions printed in the box which I think is so cute! It also means I won’t look ridiculous because I’ll know I’ve applied it correctly!

This is such a great gift set and I’m so glad that I picked it. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, I’ll be uploading some beaut selfies wearing this makeup so you can see what it’s really like!
